Wellsville Quality
Wellsville customers benefit from a fully-equipped
metals lab, with testing capabilities for hardness (Brinell),
carburization, case depth, metallography, materials failure,
grain size and grain boundary, carbide formation,
and ferrite content.
We can also provide chemical analysis of incoming material,
as well as castings, both as-cast and following heat treating.
The newest addition to the Wellsville lab is a
Spectromaxx spark discharge optical emission
spectrometer. This advanced metal analyzer has a
state-of-the-art CCD optical system, which captures all
relevant spectral information. It has an effective wavelength
range of 140-670 nm and a fully-digitalized plasma generator
source. Wellsville puts the Spectromaxx to work in both
process control and quality control. All major elements
are quickly quantified with this advanced instrument,
including phosphorous and sulfur.
The system was engineered for small sample analysis.
It also has integrated diagnostics, which continually
informs operators regarding the status of the system
and all critical components.
